I don't think there is a mechanism to kick a country out of the EU. Greece would dearly love to cut its military spending down to nothing. Unfortunately, Turkey refuses to have the International Court decide their disputes with each other, and keeps challenging Greece continuously in the Aegean by overflying Greek islands, etc.

Greek unions are outrageous. Greece needs a Margaret Thacher.
