I'm sure what Dawkins is talking about is what he perceives to be the "commonly held beliefs" of God taught in religions... OTHERWISE, he'd look like an idiot in a debate. No, he means what he says. He hates both the idea of God and if one existed (or he admitted it), he'd hate God himself. The reason is the "problem of evil" - God, if he existed, would be hateful for creating or allowing things like parasites to exist. He's said so btw. As have other of the New Atheists. ------------------------ <I've already posted that he holds that teaching children to be religious is child abuse. How much more do you need.> That is a belief, that does NOT show belief put forward in a hateful manner. Certainly teaching of ANY TOPIC IMAGINABLE has been done so in an abusive manner, including religion. I think he's WAY OFF BASE, but the fact that he's wrong doesn't show hate. His view is extreme and you're trying to soften it as if he were talking only about teaching about religion in an abusive manner.
