"So what if it's hard?" Lots of things. Mainly the fact it is a vastly simplified ecosystem. That was clear from context. "That just means you weren't successful in making your little ecosystem self-sustainable." They aren't self-sustainable. They are way too simple. Which is the point. " It doesn't say anything about the fragility of our planetary ecosystem." It says quite a bit, you just don't want to recognize it. "For you to draw any connection between the two smacks of vanity" The only vanity is thinking we can kill off species, willy-nilly, and that we can handle whatever happens. That is hubris of the highest order. "You might as well pretend that you're the God of your own little world there ..." Nonsense. It isn't playing God to recognize stupidity.
