To do it WELL one has had to have to have been a lawyer. Not to do it well will subject you to all kinds of social/political/ calamities to include ridicule and, in essence, probably a call for resignation (maybe from the appointing President). One can be on the wrong side of history, but if it is done well one can survive. Not to do it well and one cannot.
