If the advice will be stent or surgery, I'd suggest you ask the cardiologist whether this is a gray area and his advice is based on experience and judgment, OR - it is a clear situation, and his advice is based on strong studies. In the latter case, you may want to take a look at the studies, or at least the summaries. If the Cardiologist is a decent guy, he will not take this in a negative way; he will like it.

I take an expert's judgment and intuition seriously, but still, if your case is in the gray area, you may have some flexibility.

If someone tells me that I have critical lesions and I'm a walking time bomb - all bets are off. My only concern would be to get it done ASAP.
