What's up with super cars? Mercedes introduced one from McClaren that is basically a half a million dollar gas guzzling version of its SL GT. Then Audi came up with a $150,000 version of its A8, in a coupe form. It gets 12 miles per gallon around town. Infiniti gussied up its G37 coupe and put a $117,000 price tag on it. Then Lexus brought out the NFA, a 400-500 thousand dollar 400+ horsepower auto.

What are these cars? They look like retro GTOs and Chargers to me, with mind numbing takeoff speed. Are we going back to dragging for pink slips? But those old muscle cars were not incredibly expensive. These things are competing with Ferraris and Bugattis and Bentleys on a bottom line basis. And what for? Even if they find a place where they can hit top speed, a Porsche or Viper can shut them down at a much lower price. So can a Corvette. And they sure don't have the luxury of a Rolls.

Oh, well, if somebody can offer any reasoning on this, please let me know. For now, I'll just put them down as GTOs for those with more money than brains.
