After decades of watching USA legal processes in action, one of the things which makes the USA a great investment location compared with places like NZ is that big noters do serious gaol time when caught with their hands in the till.

I would not want to be the recipient of the "wet bus ticket on the wrist" in this instance.

The legal system can be harsh, relentless, merciless and very unpleasant for the recipients of justice.

Plenty of big names are currently in gaol.

The marker reaction was that this is quite an issue. finance.yahoo.com Not just for GS but for other financial institutions such as JPM and WFC with the drop putting my shorts back on track after a day or two in the red.
