Must be a performance driven crowd. The Merc body 30% lighter than aluminum, while the Lexus says its body is 220 lbs lighter, if memory serves right(200 lbs+, anyway).

They also tout its ability to absorb energy better, i.e. - it's safer, although I doubt that is why anyone buys a car like that. Then again, if you are buying one for your spoiled kids, then you might consider it a big plus.

Also, they should have a lower center of gravity to help with tight cornering without worrying as much about rolling it over.
