I agree, and even said as much.

Two accurately represent people's views you would need countless number of access, basically the model would be so complicated it would lose the ability to be used as a simple model. Compromising a bit, you could probably do with a couple more axes.

But getting back to the conversation, if they have some opinion off on some other axis, than they might not be left, right or center, in the most commonly used axis. Once you move away from the simple two axes system, "the middle" becomes more and more nebulous.
