Out for a walk tonight I stepped aside when I heard a car approaching too close. It got me to thinking. For those unable to get past the transparent mythology of their particular dogma...consider the idea (common to so much religiosity) that YOU are being WATCHED (OVER)! Are you? Survivors of volcanoes and hurricanes, etc. are being watched (OVER)??? Or do they survive from a combination of luck, knowledge, and action? Case in point: the person at the center of the bomb blast NEVER survives--he/she is blown into millions of pieces. And nobody is watching the other people either. Nobody EVER watches the person falling over a cliff with a thousand foot drop...NEVER! Is the person surviving in survivable conditions being watched? NO! All this is so so obvious, isn't it? Yet so many people would rather indulge in infantile fantasy. Now I love fantasy: I love to read it and I love to imagine it. But it is fantasy, after all...RIGHT?! Nobody is watching us and nobody is writing our name in a "book" (we still have books since we invented them, don't we?). Was somebody watching the bug you just stepped on or the trillion viruses and bacteria you just murdered? NO? And they are not watching the virus that is coming at you, either?! :-)
