Ted, SS is now paying more in benefits than it's taking in taxes. Nonsense. Not true. To date, it has not happened.......that the payout is greater than the revenues it takes in. It may happen this year because of the Great Recession. If it doesn't, it is expected to happen by 2016. ObamaCare will end up the same way ... only much sooner. The SS tax also started off much, much smaller than it is now. It took SS 70+ years to get into trouble.....and I suspect there is an easy fix but the Rs are refusing to play ball.
