Plas2Fuel - A JBII competitor

Plas2Fuel is a company that lifts my boat - long term involvement by highly skilled individuals who are producing, patenting and looking good - but privately owned, unfortunately, or I would jump in head first and load my boat:

New Tigard company – – turns ‘dirty’ plastics into crude oil

Is this process unique?

Ulum says there are other companies working on similar technologies, but he says, “We have one patent pending and other intellectual property we’ve filed just recently. So there are some unique things that we’re doing that we think are patentable.”

Then, he adds, “But our approach is unique. And one thing setting us apart from the competition is that the crude oil we make – we’re actually selling it.”

One of the test sites for an early version of the Plas2Fuel system was Agri-Plas, a recycling company in Brooks that specializes in recycling dirty agricultural plastics. That small test system produced four tanker loads of marketable crude oil within a year.

Now, Agri-Plas plans to make the Plas2Fuel system a permanent part of its operations as soon Plas2Fuel has tested and manufactured its latest generation of equipment.

“We’re waiting for them to get up and operating,” says Mary Sue Gilliland, vice president of operations and business development at Agri-Plas. “Once we’re comfortable that the new equipment works, we’ll go ahead and place an order . . . We’re probably looking at September or October to fire up our first four units.”

Gilliland says the Plas2Fuel system will allow them to take in more types of plastic than they do now – plastic that presently does not have enough economic value or is prohibited from collection.

“We figure we will increase the material we run through here by 300 percent,” Gilliland says.

Mr. DeWhitt is the Chief Technology Officer of Plas2Fuel Corporation. Prior to founding Plas2Fuel, he worked for 20 years in the analytical chemistry industry for a number of independent laboratories. He was first introduced to the process of converting waste plastic materials into petrochemical products when he began working in a consultative capacity with Environmental Fuel Development (EFD) Company in December of 2000. After EFD ceased operations, Mr. DeWhitt continued to work on the concept, and is the inventor of the Anaerobic Thermal Reclamation (ATR) process. He has been working exclusively on perfecting the ATR process for the past three years.

Mr. DeWhitt holds two B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Physics from Oregon State University, spent an additional year studying Physics at the University of Stuttgart in Germany and returned from Germany to study Chemistry in Oregon State University's graduate degree program for one year before beginning his professional career.--

I shall follow this Plas2Fuel company's future and get involved whenever they do go public - probably when they need funding for expansion coast to coast cause this plastic to fuel issue is going to be very big IMHO, and I want a piece of the successful and leading entrant in this business and Plas2Fuel looks like it to me at the moment.
