<<<And to think I was happy with BT...peanuts!>>>

I'm wondering if by "three more substantial contracts" one could still be with BT. In other words, not for a thousand-line trial, but a commercial launch. It's worth a thought.

Today's market reminds me of those lazy summer days of my childhood in Eastern Washington. With nothing but wheat fields for as far as you could see, there were times the air was so dry and the world so quiet you could hear the telephone wires humming overhead. Then in the distance you'd see the dust of an approaching truck even before you heard it. Within minutes it would roar past filled with wheat and a half hour later return empty.

All that work from planting to harvest and yet I'm sure no one gave much thought to how their bread got to their tables or worried that it might not be there.

And so it will be with bandwidth.

But right now Wall Street wants their bagels and croissants and seemingly forgets what it takes to make them.

Grandpa Henley, my cousin's grandfather, had farmed the land for sixty years and to my five year-old eyes was bigger than God. I can still see him ripping off a head of wheat and crushing it in his massive hands. Then feeling it for texture, he'd put a bit in his mouth and nod knowingly. "Another week she'll be ready."

And we knew it would.
