You really think it's just about that? There were no protests when the Republicans passed Medicare Part D. And see this today:

This sort of crazy stuff happens every time there's a Democrat in the White House. It happened in the '30s, in the early '60s we had the Ultras (who were even bigger than the teabaggers), we had the militias, Waco, Ruby Ridge, McVeigh in the '90s. And now we have the teabaggers. They're totally incoherent and just plain angry about something. They're trying to "take their country back" and yelling about guns, and Kenya, and taxes, and a whole lot of other things.

You might be talking about the "inevitability of higher taxes and bigger government." The teabaggers are only partially doing so. Remember BDS? This is ODS.
