What steps would you actually take to reduce usage? Many possible steps would be easy to object to.

I'm reminded of the debate on health care reform. It's hard to be against health care reform. The system we have/had has plenty of problems. It's easy to be against some particular plan for health care reform, though. Those who favored the Administration's plan would say that everyone else was against health care reform. Really bugged me when they did that. Maybe that was true for some but mostly folks favored doing something about the problem.

So, I reassert that most everyone is in favor of energy independence, writ broadly. Being against some particular approach to it is a different matter.

But you're not opposed to reducing usage, etc., which was my point.
