I'll check these URLs out but at first blush, I have the following thought:

Microsoft sells WIndows NT 4.0 and recommends a 160 MHz Pentium/Pentium PRO with 32 MBytes memory and an advanced graphics display.

I can imagine what a crippled-down NC will perform like running NT in some emulation mode. I'll bet MIS managers will make a mad dash to distribute these glacial machines to the engineers they support.

That should reduce their workload since their users will be sitting around for hours waiting for these programs to execute, greatly reducing the amount of support calls they need to attend to.

Maybe this is the REAL NT strategy for MIS types - slow the game down!
