No, the lack of regulation didn't cause anything. Instead, the real reason of said consolidation is that those in power will write rules that benefit themselves. That is true no matter what form that power comes in. Corporations or smooth-talking politicians. The game will always be rigged in their favor. If you think corporations have too much power to screw over American society, wait until "Hope and Change" has its turn.
