BS, Qualcomm Incorporated is one such company. They have many $billions stacked up, earned largely offshore. But they pay big dividends. Many shareholders are Americans and they pay plenty of tax to the Empire. People like me who are not Americans pay a large tranche of dividends to the USA government too.
Employees of Qualcomm, who live in the USA, get big heaps of salary. They pay tax on that and spend most of it which is taxed again when they spend it, and those who receive payment from Qualcomm employees pay tax on their income and the people they give it to pay tax on their income.
When I spend my dividends, I typically buy things which are sold by American companies such as Kemp Technology, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Mobil, Caltex, Boeing, Qualcomm.
Unfortunately, the NZ government is good at what they do, so they are able to spend most of what I receive and come back for more. They seem to have no limit to their ability to waste money.
