Commentary on the economy by a stock trader: The Economy Is Going to Surprise You! 4/20/2010 2:13 PM EDT Sorry, bears! The economy is not going to bail you out if you're short. I've got an eclectic assortment of channel checks -- an odd-lots lumber producer, a machinery parts manufacturer, an apparel manufacturing rep in China that services companies in the U.S., a privately held Korean tire maker that sells to U.S. companies, and much more. Across the board, I'm hearing the same refrain -- the economy is building momentum almost on a weekly basis ... virtually every contact I talk to is surprised by an escalating rate of growth in recent weeks.
