Hmmm ... that looks like a job for Tim F. I've no patience with financial docs because there is too much 'this is good' oh but 'that is pretty bad' yet 'on the positive side' blah blah blah

I'll net it out for you...the current estimate is that TARP is likely to cost the american taxpayer $85B, down from $365B. A bargain considering that we avoided a financial catastrophe.


And that might be hi-balling it. Most of the banks have paid or are paying back their TARP monies. The two culprits that could cause problems are GM and AIG and both seem to be doing much better.
