Study: 'Media utterly surprised by the support for Scott Brown'

A new study from Boston University and the Project for Excellence in Journalism says one reason the press may have missed how the Massachusetts Senate race would eventually play out is that the newspapers rarely ventured outside of the city of Boston. ANOTHER FINDING: In the general election, the Boston Herald treated Scott Brown much more favorably (43% positive, 17% negative) than the Globe did (26% positive, 29% negative). poynter.org
