As I mentioned in a previous post, I think this volcanic activity in Iceland is going to have a long-lasting economic impact on Europe's tourism industry.

I'm not sure how many people are going to be willing to make plans 30-60 days (or longer) in advance for a European vacation when they face an arbitrary flight cancellation due to volcanic ash issues.

And since most of the PIIGS are countries that are tourism dependent, that's going to put increasing pressure on their debt, as well as encouraging CDS speculation.
