Alaska got the idea from Alberta. We made our PF large enough that we do not pay any state taxes at all and everyone gets about $1,500 a year. 25 and now 50% of all state owned natural resources revenue go into the principle of the permanent fund.

Why isn't Texas's PF larger. Think of how much oil they have pumped over the last 40 years.
