Billy, The simultanous decode/ encode capablilities of the DVx is mainly to support video teleconferencing where it is essential to have minumal delays in this environment for obvious reasons. Its simultanious two stream decoding function is to support Hi end PC video editing, where two streams can be decoded at the same time for the purpose of special effect generation. This is not a requirement of MPEG 2 or DVD encoding such as VBR would be. k
