I'm pointing out that SS and Medicare is growing not because "s--t happens," but because more people are retiring relative to those working to pay their benefits.


Yes, there is a demographic bubble. We've known that for years. A small change in the SS rate could prevent a disaster. And yet, the rate on SS has not changed at all in the last 20 years if not longer. Why not?

We could reform SS and Medicare, but it's difficult because liberals think any fundamental change to those programs would eliminate them.

That's because what you all consider reform is privatizing SS. And most liberals believe that would be a huge mistake.
