Hello John.. This will be my last message to you. I wasn't going to bother with this thread anymore. But since you and, I believe, David seem to be the only ones who are "real". I'll write this to give you a couple of observations.

First, I don't know who "Shalom" is as he/she/it prefers to be anonymous. One thing I do know and that it s/he is a liar. In the statement in a prior post: (speaking of the Jesus Scholars)

" As to their "scholars" 40 of them are virtual unknowns, nobodies. They cannot be traced to any academia.. and all 70 of them can be traced to only 3 universities.... nice little clan."

This is an out and out lie. Go look at the book and look at the people who were involved in it. S/ He is a pretender, without a doubt, leading you on. In the statement s/he is implying that I lied when I mentioned all of the acacemics that I was impressed with. One thing I know is that I tell the truth, ( I haven't a good enough memory to be a liar.)

As far as my involvement wiith the book, I did not read their comments. I'm wasn't interested in what other men had to say what Jesus said, I was ONLY interested in what Jesus had to say only. I can't comment on their comments as I didn't read them. The other book that I read was the version of the bible that had Jesus' word in red. (I left it at the office, that is why I quoted from the other one.) I bought that edition so that I could easily spot his "actual" words. I bought the "Five Gospels" for the same reason and that it was a recent translation from
the Greek.

After looking at what the "Christians" who ever they are have to offer. I am going to stick with the "God" of creation. It's not a "dissapearing yankee," like yours is. The nice thing about the force of nature, is that it is a given. I haven't met anyone who doesn't acknowledge that there is a creator. And, it is the source of reason, as opposed to yours whose source is some man's B&B, (belief and bull.) Your "God" of belief dissapears as soon as someone gets close to it. The latest examples are that the Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians, and the Jesus Seminar aren't either. Since their backgrounds appear to be every Christian denomination, I guess the Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, etc, aren't either. If you guys ever find out just who the Christians are let each other know. So far, all I've seen is condemnation of everyone who professes to be a Christian. I guess that's why there are so many denominations.

I have always gone to the basis of rumors to find out for myself what the source is. This is the approach that I took here. I didn't bother with what everyone else had to say... I just read Jesus' words and ONLY those words. And, when I quoted them back, even they weren't acceptable. All I can say is, some piece of work! Now you (collectively) don't believe what Jesus had to say because someone you don't know translated it! You've come around to my point of view.
At last, we've found common ground!

As one railroader to another.. keep on chuggin! (No need to respond, I won't be reading this thread anymore.)

:o)
