Michael: Your stated philosophy for shorting this stock is a loser's ball game, IMO. Look at what the professional shorters have been up to. They started shorting this stock at $14, and have ridden it down to where it is today, and probably had a lot to do with this last decline below $5. Now, when we are at the bottom and the news is imminent, the shorts begin their hysterical rantings on this thread. Why are they doing this? To squeeze as much blood out of the IPM turnip as they can before they start covering in earnest.

If there is a pre-report runup in which you state you would be shorting into, a good portion of the runup is likely to be caused by the professional shorties covering their positions. So, while the professional shorties are taking their healthy profits and reducing their risk, you would choose this time to initiate a short position? Not a wise move, IMO.
