CJ, > Are you saying that engineers are no more productive than they were 30 years ago?

I run Verilog simulations. These simulations run 100 times faster than when I started (all other things being equal), but we're also designing chips that are more complex.

Did my productivity go up a hundred fold? And should my pay reflect that the tools I work with, including the servers I run simulations on, are a hundred times faster?

Bottom line is that the market determines what my pay is.
