Soooo, you are separating public employees and private union employees? And by your argument it is appropriate for union workers outside of the public domain to get whatever they can - but not public workers? I might be able to buy that argument. ........What I find troubling is this constant demonizing of the working man. Nurses, teachers, police and firefighters i do not find evil. If the incentive structure is wrong - change that - but shouldn't that be done instead of attacking teachers?

Frankly I think going after unions as some sort of evil is nothing but a diversion instead of going after those who have really skewed the incentives in this country. Here look at these evil teachers - stop looking at us for just doing ...."god's work".
