Ali, the Cyrix MX233 and AMD K6-233 really kicked Intel's butt in
those benchmarks. pctoday.com

IMHO, the BAPCo SYSmark benchmarks, based solely on real-world
applications, are much more accurate than the stuff Ziff-Davis is now
using, which doesn't use many applications and includes "synthetic"
benchmarks. When PC Magazine found that a Cyrix MX-233 system got a
much higher result than any Intel MMX-233 system ever tested, they
decided that it was due to a faster disk system and therefore they
won't use that test anymore (I think it was "Gaussian Blur" with Adobe
Photoshop).

Quotes on the Intel Pentium 233 MMX:

The Pentium received an overall score of 229 in our SYSmark for
Windows 95 benchmarks-a far cry from first place.

Surprisingly, the Pentium fared even worse in our SYSmark for Windows
NT tests. Its overall score of 168 again put it in last place and
scores across the board were mediocre.

Here's the complete table of benchmark results. Intel is in last
place
in every single test.
