Kirk, Thanks for the charts - they tell a good story of some interesting periods.

I know I should "never say never", but I don't think we will ever see another period like 1998 - 2000. A combination of several factors came together in that period that I don't think we will ever see again, at least not in my lifetime.

However, I think it is possible we could have a good run here for several hundred points on the SOX, but it may be very "slow going". I would be much more optimistic if the world economy was in better shape.

As several posters have noted, we have gone through a long period of under investment in technology procurement, both in the products themselves as well as the cap ex equipment to build the technology products. In addition, we live in a world which demands and needs these technology products to improve productivity on an ever increasing basis. This is a great position to be in from an investment point of view, but if the world economy "buckles" all bets are off.

As always, we will just have to wait and see if this particular "boom" can keep going on this upward trend that is now in place.
