This is the weekly update for the Group and SOX tables in terms of earnings estimates and price changes.

Earnings estimates for both the Group and the SOX were up substantially this week due to the reporting companies for the most part projecting bright futures. The SOX earnings estimates were up particularly so in this regard.

Check the right side of the SOX table again. Beginning with the weeks of 1/15 to 1/29, the SOX corrected 14 percent during that 3 week period. From that point on thru this past week, only the week of 2/26 saw was down, all other weeks have shown a positive number. From the week ending 1/29 the SOX has gone from 316.07 to close at 400.42 this past Friday, a gain of 27 percent. Over this same period, Curr yr estimates have gone from 21.22 to 32.04(51%), and Nxt Yr estimates have gone from 31.24 to 38.98(25%).

And in a final note, the SOX has gone from 180.22 from the week ending 11/21/08 to 400.42 this past Friday, 4/23/10, up 122.2 percent over a 17 month period - much better than T-Bills!<g>
