This company just can't win...

First they lease a bunch of dogs from Fed Ex (which may have been management's fault), and now Boeing can't come through with deliveries...

Sure cash compensation will be nice, but you can't pay enough for potential customers that ATLS may loose because of delays....

Boeing delay may harm Atlas customer demand

WASHINGTON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Atlas Air Inc said a potential setback in the 1998 delivery schedule of Boeing Co (BA)
747-400 planes may ''adversely impact'' its ability to initiate service with prospective customers.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Atlas said because of production problems at Boeing, it believes
delivery of the planes scheduled to begin in May 1998 the aircraft may be delayed up to 60 days.

Atlas said Boeing will appropriately compensate the company for any delays in delivery of the 747-400 aircraft.

On June 9, the company agreed to buy 10 new 747-400 planes with four planes slated for delivery in 1998, two in 1999, three
in 2000 and one in 2001. The contract with Boeing also gives Atlas the option to buy up to 10 additional planes for delivery
from 1999 through 2002.

Atlas, based in Golden, Colo., provides airport-to-airport cargo transportation services throughout the world to major
international air carriers. Atlas uses an all-Boeing fleet of 747 freighter aircraft.

Good luck.
