OK bug. This truly is my last post here for some time. :o)
I just can't accept the misinformation you are presenting in your posts!
First, I haven't done the numbers, and neither have you. You talk about pennies in earnings if we take away the problems. I'm not going to waste my time figuring out penny by penny what they would have earned in 100 "what if" situations. However, analysts don't just bust out with estimates of $2.00 in earnings for next year for no reason. These very well might be restated downwards, but I doubt it. We know these analysts are only modeling <25% unit increases. ASP will likely trend down. However, without a sub 1K PC, how low exactly do you expect this to go? You see, you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. You say GTW needs a 1K PC but then you bitch about how ASP is going to hell. It's one or the other. How do you think DELL has been able to keep their ASP so high? It sure isn't because of all those sub $1000 pcs they're selling!
My point is that fundamentals are improving. The 2Q problem was not fully resolved by 3Q, and they ended up taking some charges to fix things up. Things get better from here.
And this stuff you picked up on "In like lamb, out like a lion" is just crap. They are talking about demand for their products. Come on now people, demand has been pretty strong here!
Is cracking on GTW's cow boxes the worst you can offer? No corporate marketting? Sure. What facts do you base this on? Certainly you can't expect them to post huge profuts from the division which they've only focused on for 1 quarter? Wouldn't you agree that this holds the potential for greater upside suprise, as large amounts of corporate revenue aren't really factored into future estimates?
I'm here to discuss the facts. I contribute to SI so I can get information. When I go to various threads for research, I hope to find real info, not falsities like you post. I'll still read the thread and comment when things get out of hand. If anyone really wants to discuss GTW, they can mail me at lempel@n-jcenter.com
