>>Posted this on the politics thread. It speaks to why I am am harping on getting our spending under control. Dont care who did it, why it was done. There is a a piper that we will be paying and the price will be dear for us and worse for our children if we dont act responsibly now.<<

Here is the insult in your post that makes we liberals want to set our hair on fire:

"DON'T CARE WHO DID IT, WHY IT WAS DONE"

Of course you do not care, because it was the people of your political persuasion who did it.

Secondly, the scam here, is that what the pubs always do is transfer as much money as they can to their rich friends (e.g. bush's trillion dollar tax cuts) and then when the dems take over and want to do something for the people, the treasury is bare; and all of a sudden you folks want to tighten our belt and forget what happened. After the barn door is closed i.e. the rich have all the peoples money.

So while we tighten the belt of the poor, the rich just get richer---and all the statistics prove that out. Since Raygun and the pubs have been in office, the rich have gotten richer and the poor poorer.

So if you really don't care how we balance the budget how about dropping the bush tax cuts on the rich and raising the taxes on the rich to 50% and start taxing corporations with a minimum tax.

Exxon made 45 billion last year and paid no taxes. 75% of corporations paid no taxes. In the old days BR ( Before Raygun) corporations paid an average of 4 to 7% in taxes.

PS Raygun paid no taxes one year.

So how about a 10 to 20% miniumum tax on corporatios?
