Consider it revealed preference. If someone keeps calling for more government power, money and control, and then he implements policies granting such a government expansion, while pushing for others, and promising even more of the same, its reasonable to say that its his agenda. Should his words and actions change, I might change my opinion of him.

"The reality of both is more power, money, and control for government."

There has been a certain amount of that.


There has been a lot of that, plus a push for a lot more.

But, he is facing some big problems.

Which doesn't imply that big government is the solution or even a good idea.

Some of which have been because we thought that markets would sort themselves out if left alone. They didn't

1 - They where not left alone.

2 - Government involvement generally hasn't made them better, and in fact was an important contributor to the problems in the first place.
