re: short candidates: ENER, ESLR, and SPWRA are all good short candidates. The reason I didn't pick them, is I thought the bad news was already in those stocks, to a greater extent than CSIQ or FSLR. I could easily be wrong. It would probably be useful to back-test my decision, once I cover my shorts. Remind me to do that, especially if my choice looks wrong.
FSLR is also risky, because 30% of the shares are already shorted. This stock isn't going to zero. At some point, sentiment will turn on FSLR. When it does, all those shorts may try to cover on the same day, and it'll get real ugly real quick. Better to cover very early, than one day too late. |
