Nearly two-thirds of Americans say the stimulus isn’t working

Politico flags this brutal poll result for Dems:

<<< Nearly two-thirds of Americans do not believe the $787 billion stimulus package the president passed last year has helped create jobs, according to a new Pew Research Center poll.

Sixty-two percent of those polled said the stimulus hasn’t contributed to job creation, while 33 percent said the package has. >>>

Of course, this could be seen by some as a measure of public ignorance — however, a recent survey of business economists showed they didn’t think the stimulus was creating jobs, either.

Note that DNC head Tim Kaine recently leaked the Democrats’ reelection talking points, including:

<<< **Two million people or more have jobs today who wouldn’t have without the bold action taken by this President and Democrats in Congress. >>>

That ridiculous “saved or created” metric for stimulus jobs was always an absurd thing to sell to voters. This problem has exacerbated by White House attempts to substantiate the number of stimulus jobs that have been rife with statistical contortion and transparent sophistry.

Democrats can try and run on taking credit for the stimulus, but good luck with that.
