Brumar89 is intentionally misleading here. The posts on infanticide are all on record. And it is true that Jesus could have spoken against slavery and infanticide which were major moral issues of the time (at least from OUR moral perspective!) :-)

But the real point was not Jesus, per se. You see, Yahweh's connection to infanticide is very direct and supported by a lot of scripture. Now here is the rub? Who is Yahweh?? Every major denomination of Christianity believes in a triune god although they have individual dogma (which is why they are different sects ;-)). Now for an official Christian, the problem of whether or not and how Jesus was God in the genocide, rape, and savagery of the Old Testament needs to be addressed and processed into his/her dogmatic structure. Because, although one can simply say Jesus was too busy in the New Testament or his feelings or thoughts on this issue or that were not duly noted--how does one excuse Jesus if he is one with the father of old testament notoriety?

Brumar89 knows something of these issues, I warrant and he is very pointedly pretending that it is merely about Jesus as man/god as mythologized by new testament writers and future exegesis that is on the table. But all three of them are on the table: God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost, and all ONE of them is on the table: God/Jesus/The Holy Ghost--(and it is all such ridiculous nonsense for grown up people to invent and to discuss and to pontificate upon)!

So if you believe Jesus is just "man" you can possibly overlook certain faults. But if you believe he is 3-in-one like an advanced certs candy then you need to rationalize the evil in BOTH testaments.

So now we have new questions: Did Jesus know about the flood that murdered every living thing? Did he do it? The story goes that there is only ONE creator. So if Jesus is God we need to ask ourselves serious questions.
