BP has already agreed to compensate. This thing hasn't played out yet either. I don't know how much oil has reached land yet. Hopefully everyone will get down there with all the equipment we have to minimize the damage. Koan is right, the gulf coast is more suseptable than Alaska due to the number of islands, esturaries, nursuries etc.
