God allows the evil lusts and desires of fallen humans to come to fruition for His own purposes and in this case He allowed the wives of David to commit adultery, publicly with other men of their own choosing as a punishment on David's adultery. God also took the life of Davids child (as it is His prerogative to do) as punishment for David arranging the death of Uriah. An eye for an eye. Ever hear of that, genius?
