For a nation that has over and over again sent scores of human beings to space, the the moon etc., I find it hard to believe that they cannot drill oil and do so safely. These oil hungry folks circumvented safety measures, probably paid off some of the safety inspectors and now we have a catastrophe. It is a good move by theis Administration to suspend all drilling until there is a full and thorough investigation. I would hope that before drilling can begin again, we go through an extensive process to ensure that we have all the safeguards and safety in place, discuss these within teams of "risk" and "hazard experts", have strict enforcements in place before these rigs are allowed to operate again.
