Ooooooo..... Joe, must it be this way? It wasn't like this in Paris, in the springtime.
"...rudeness, crudeness, insulting style..."

" To you the Internet is a game and SI is just one of the game's options."
Joe, seriously now, if Life itself and all that passes in it is not a game, then what is it? A sombre, dogged march to the grave? Joe, look at Karl's example. Karl took a major hit on Bre-X and then posted to the thread and cracked jokes. Now there's an attitude.
Yes, I consider the Internet and especially SI an essential part of the major game, the sharemarket, a game at which, btw, I make my living. Games can improve thinking processes without risk of serious loss, for instance chess is a surrogate for war, there are no casualties, the pieces can be put back in the box at the end of the game. The Japanese have a game called Go, played on a chess-like board with black and white stones, it has very simple rules, only three in fact, and yet the strategy and tactics are infinitely complex, one never stops learning. It is very like the sharemarket.
Debate is a game, a game which if played well can stimulate thought as it imparts information, a very useful game. When it follows the basic rules of parliamentary procedure, that is, and not those of mud wrestling. SI has the potential to be a thinking investor's coffee shop, or just another biker bar. It's up to us.
Say what you like about EC, he stimulates thought. Is he harsh, a man of strong opinion? Oh, yeah. But he thinks.
And if for a minute you believe that I would not jump all over his sorry ass if he imho fouled this forum, well just watch me. Not that anyone would care, mind you.
Jill rules here. Period. With an eye to the Terms of Use one will not incur her wrath.
"Mr. Marcos, I don't enjoy your humor and would appreciate it if you would restrict yourself to posts (positive or negative) congruent with the subject (IPM)"
Joe, or Mr. Hartenbower, if you prefer.......Trust me, you do not want to hear my thoughts on IPM, as I do not believe that of the infinite choices available in this investment universe, it is the finest. I am truly sorry if you don't enjoy my humour, but to each his own, and there is always the Next button. It's a planet-wide world we have here, amazing variety, I skip many poster's efforts myself. Ars longa, vita brevis (Art is long, life is short).
I sincerely wish you luck with your endeavours ........... marcos |
