The only thing which will stop drilling is when cost exceeds return.

Agree. But do we want to stop drilling or make it safer by having the oil companies cut down their excessive profits by investing more on safety R&D.

Before they say that they have technology to tap oil from 6 miles below, I sure hope the community requires them to demonstrate fail safe system to address catastrophic failures.
