5,000 bbl/dy will be quite catastrophic as it is, especially if they don't get control until the relief well is completed. That'll be the equivalent of 2+ Exxon Valdez's, into a much more ecologically sensitive area. Unfortunately I think that's exactly what will happen.

Investment-wise (or investment-foolish) I have decided that the best way to play this is to buy RIG's competitors. Their shares have been hammered also, they have no direct liability to this incident, and wells will continue to be drilled (if not in the Gulf, then elsewhere in the world). I bought some DO today with that premise in mind. To the extent that RIG's reputation is slimed (pun entirely intended), DO stands to gain market share.
