As to tourists: a fast train from NY to Florida, so's folks can visit Disneyworld and Key West. a train from Dallas to the Gulf Coast there. and one from B'ham to the coast in Alabama. A decent electrical car system to ride people along the coast, not like it is that big overall.

I've actually never been to the gulf coast here, even though it is 6 hour drive away. if I could park in B'ham and hop a train... I might just do it. I live in Alabama, but have no idea what our coast looks like.
