How many cars in America? How many run on oil products? How many years would it take to convert the fleet to another energy source, even if the government gave new vehicles away? What will power that conversion, besides oil and coal?

President Obama's Katrina will come if he ignores Peak Oil.
Americans can cope with dead birds, but they won't tolerate gas lines and rationing. Those fishermen who are pissed now would be just as pissed if they had no fuel for their boats, and weren't gonna get any for the entire season.
