I still can't understand why most countries don't adopt the preferential voting system similar to what is used in Australia..

Of course the quality of the government isn't necessarily any better but at least a minority party can make a showing and make a difference if they can get the votes and their supporters can still have a say in the final composition of the government.

Maybe having more than two choices is too much for the general population in the US...
