Stockman,

The URL provides an excellant explanation.

Summary of the the page is that AGP will help you only if you are running a 3D programs and only if those 3D programs use textures and only if those tectures are very large that they cannot fit in the graphics memory of your graphics card.

So if you need to know if AGP is usefull for you goes like this:

Do you play games?
No - 70% - Forget AGP
Yes - 30%

Are the games you play Windows95 games?
No - 50% of 30% = 15% - Forget AGP
Yes - 50% of 30% = 15%

Are the Windows95 games 3D games?
No - 66% of 15% = 10% - Forget AGP
Yes - 33% of 15% = 5%

Do these games use large textures?
No - 50% of 5% = 2.5% Forget AGP
Yes - 50% of 5% = 2.5%

Now if you are among the 2.5% who may benefit from AGP, do you want a kick ass perfomance?
YES - 99% of 2.5% = 2.475%
Add memory to your graphics card, forget AGP

No, barely perceptible performance increase is enough - 1% of 2.5% = 0.025% (Paul, Yousef, Stockman, Elmer)
Buy AGP
