In retrospect, I'd have to say the best short candidates are CSIQ, ENER, and SPWRA.

I won't short the Chinese companies, because they are backed by the deep pockets of the Chinese government. And, clearly, shorting FSLR before their earnings announcement was a mistake.

ESLR has found support, at about $1.10, in March, April, and May. It may be already priced for bankruptcy.

ENER just broke below $7, and I'm thinking about shorting it.

disclosure: covered my FSLR short today at $134. Amazingly, I managed to get out even. I shorted at 131, and 140. Didn't have the courage to short more at 150. One of my rules is: admit when I've made a mistake, and close the position at the first opportunity.

I will continue to hold my CSIQ short, as it is doing what I expected it to do.

Bought more FAN (wind ETF) today, at $12. I now hold equal-$ amounts, bought at $14, $13, $12. Entered an order to buy more at $11. Will probably sell my highest-cost shares, at $14-16.
